How do I install Headcount in Slack?
Sign up at app.headcounthq.xyz, complete the onboarding steps (company details, leave policies), then connect Slack from Settings > Integrations. The bot will appear in your workspace's Apps section.
Do employees need to install anything?
No. Once the admin connects Slack, every team member can open the Headcount App Home directly in Slack. Nothing to install — it's already there.
Is this employee surveillance?
No. Headcount only reads messages in conversations where it is directly tagged or messaged. It never monitors channels, screens, or keystrokes. It uses privacy-respecting signals like PTO patterns, workload self-reports, and pulse responses.
How do I disconnect Headcount?
Go to Settings > Integrations in the Headcount dashboard and click Disconnect. This revokes all access immediately. You can also remove the app from your Slack workspace settings.
What data does Headcount access?
Only what you explicitly authorize — user profiles, the ability to send DMs and post messages, and App Home rendering. No channel messages, files, or DMs are read unless you @mention the bot.
How is pricing calculated?
Per user per month, based on the number of people added to your workspace. Free for the first 2 months, no credit card required.
